Electric folding bikes that keep winning awards
Anyone considering buying an electric folding bike is mainly looking for reliability and proven quality. Lacros is a Dutch brand that has been active since 2009, focusing from the start on developing practical, comfortable, and durable bikes. Over the years, we have received many positive user reviews, which we value at least as much as professional test results. This combination of real-world experience and independent assessments forms the foundation of everything we do.
Over the years, our electric folding bikes have been regularly tested by various organizations. In 2017, the ANWB already rated Lacros as the best in its electric folding bike test. The Lacros Scamper won with “more than just the final score suggests. It is a fantastic electric folding bike!” according to the ANWB. The Lacros Trotter also performed excellently, securing second place in the same test, showing that high quality is not limited to a single model. In addition, the Sketch Nestor was rated 9 out of 10 by ANWB in 2022 — an exceptionally high score representing comfort, reliability, and riding pleasure.
The NKC also tested our electric folding bikes and declared Lacros the winner in 2018. In that test, the Scamper was described as a real “kilometer-eater,” with explicit mention that the bike is still comfortable and reasonably light to pedal even without electric assistance. For many cyclists, especially travelers with a camper or caravan, this is a significant advantage.
Besides these tests, numerous national and regional media bike reviews followed. The AD and ADR bike tests merged over time and continue under the name Fietstest.nl. So far, Lacros has won this test four times, three times consecutively in 2022, 2023, and 2024. We see these results not as a one-time achievement but as confirmation that our bikes continue to prove themselves, even as test criteria and expectations evolve.
What motivates us even more is that these test victories align closely with our customers’ experiences. Many riders cite comfort, stability, and reliability as key reasons for choosing our electric folding bikes. We consider these positive reviews a valuable complement to professional tests.
Our models continue to receive high marks in recent years. In 2025, both the Lacros Scamper S600XL Belt and the Lacros TX Carbon were tested by Belgian E-bike Magazine. The Scamper S600XL Belt scored 8.5 out of 10, while the TX Carbon received an 8 out of 10. These ratings fit the pattern we have seen for years: solid bikes with enjoyable riding characteristics and thoughtful design.
While it is gratifying to be regularly recognized as a test winner or maker of the best electric folding bike, we remain humble. We view it as motivation to keep improving. The world of e-bikes and electric folding bikes continues to evolve, and we evolve with it, focusing on technology, sustainability, and ease of use.
